Part 1

Many people were gone this week, and there were many important announcements during this rehearsal, so I've included some more granular detail here.

Start - Warm up

09:00 - Some focused rhythm work on eighth notes and triplets, and at 
12:00 - we apply this work to Canticle of Freedom, starting around measure 245

16:51 - Rehearsal of Canticle of Freedom from the beginning

42:25 - Announcements: 
  1. Rehearsals and concert next week. Please COVID test the first day you’re rehearsing next week. 
  2. Following week is the Potluck, when you can turn in borrowed music with all markings erased. If you’re not joining for the potluck, please turn in music after the concert with all markings erased. 
  3. Please pay your dues if you haven’t already—or contact Sarah to make arrangements.
  4. Check the Chorus Memo for concert report times and plan to arrive in advance. Please ensure that you have proper attire, explained in the memo. Check the memo for the correct location.
  5. Summer sings are confirmed and will be announced soon.

Part 2

Start - Additional concert-specific announcements:
  1. We’ll need to move off stage quickly to not have to sit through the whole second piece on the program, and we’ll be practicing this during rehearsals.

Ash also gave some specific instructions for stage comportment...
4:39 - Ash explains how he would like us to come on stage, sit, and then stand when the maestro walks out. There is an advanced 2-beat technique ;-)
6:15 - There is a three-beat technique to sit down when we’ve finished and the audience is applauding - we’ll stand back up again to be acknowledged
